Photography
Your wedding day will be one of the most memorable moments of your life. Photography is one of the best ways to capture it. If possible start looking for a photographer about 9 to 12 months prior to your wedding. The best way to begin is by asking your friends and family for recommendations or go to a reliable source such as Wedding Ideas Magazine. (We have several reliable photographers [such as Larry Odom Photography pictured left www.focusphotographybylarryodom.com] with a variety of prices and packages to accommodate your needs)
When you are interviewing photographers, you need to take time to see their portfolio. Make notes of photos and poses you like and make sure their previous work is of the quality you desire. Go for a photographer that can capture and document your day. You want them to be able freeze all your special and intimate moments not just take a good posed photo. The beautiful bride pictured to the right was photographed at The Albert Pike Hotel downtown Little Rock by Photography by Melisa, 11815 Mara Lynn, Little Rock or email them at info@photographybymelisa.com.
When viewing their work ask yourself the following questions:
- Do the photos have a sharp, crisp look?
- Are the photos overall technically adequate?
- Did the photographer capture the emotion of the day?
- Are you comfortable and Do you have confidence in this photographer to capture the images you want?
Questions to Ask Your Photographer:
- How long have you been taking wedding pictures?
- Can I get references from your last few weddings?
- What are your prices and what does this price include? Is there an extra charge for proofs?
- Does the price include an album?
- Can you provide an itemized agreement of everything included in the package and total cost?
- Do I have to have all my pictures taken before the wedding? or are you flexible to my desires?
- Do you have a back up incase of an emergency?
- Can we give you the list of photos that we want?
- Will you arrive to capture last-minute preparations?
- Can you retouch photos? What about Special effects?
- How long after the wedding can we order additional photos?
